By-laws thoughts

For those who aren't on the by-laws committee, here are some of my comments.

I would like to see our by-laws follow more closely the draft sent to us by Russell George. The ones (no offense) written by lawyers seem to me to have no character and traditionally maybe that was OK. I think it's time to be a little untraditional. I think we need to make it clear in our by-laws that we do intend to do business in a little different way - as is clear from the Act in 37-75-104, " encourage locally driven collaborative solutions..." and to (d) Serve as a forum for education and debate..."
I have read the S. Platte by-laws draft and though there are some interesting points, for the most part they address essentially legal issues and not vision issues. At least in the Mission and Goals we need to leave our by-laws open to revising and re-visioning as we learn more about what the different communities need.
